If you'd like to give a little back this year and raise some money for charity, why not take part in Macmillan Cancer Support's World's Biggest Coffee Morning and see how much you and your friends can raise? All you'll need to do is get your tablecloth, teapot and mugs out, then bake a cake to help to support a truly worthy cause.

It's the trust's biggest annual fundraising event, taking place this year on September 26th, so you've got plenty of time to prepare yourselves and ensure everything is in place ahead of schedule. Last year, the event saw 154,000 people participate, raising the record amount of £20 million!

The Macmillan website has all sorts of interesting information and tips to help you get going, including a huge number of recipes for you to choose from donated by celebrities like Alan Carr, Claudia Winkleman and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. We're rather taken with Dame Judi Dench's mini cherry bakewells though, so expect to see them on our dinner table in the very near future!

You could even do something a little different and bring a touch of arts and crafts to your coffee morning. The Macmillan website has ideas online, showing you how to make your bunting, invitations, cake stands and mug warmer cosies. There's nothing like a few handmade touches to really make an impact. You could even ask everyone who's coming to make something crafty as well, from decorations to place cards. Don't forget to take photos and send them off to Macmillan to show them what you've been doing.
